O nauczycielu Mateusz

I studied at three European universities: KU Leuven, the University of Helsinki, and Jagiellonian University, as part of the Joint Bachelor in European Studies (BAES) programme. Thanks to my international academic experience, I can connect geographical and environmental concepts with real-world economic, political, and social developments - something particularly important in the IB curriculum.

My goal is for students to leave every lesson not only knowing more, but also understanding exactly how to apply that knowledge in an exam. In other words, how to think like an IB examiner! :)

During my scholarship awarded by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I worked at one of Poland's leading think tanks, analysing geopolitical issues, including research relevant to government ministries, NATO, and the European Union.

I am currently continuing my education abroad at KU Leuven. I am also a Mentor at Our Future Foundation, an organisation that supports some of Poland's most ambitious high school students in applying to leading universities worldwide. This means I can also offer guidance on university applications and admissions.

My teaching approach is based on IB past papers, question banks, real-world case studies, and practical examples drawn from current global events, as well as my professional experience in international relations and diplomacy.

I have been tutoring IB Geography and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) for three years. During this time, I have worked with over 15 students, helping them with their coursework, exam preparation, Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and university applications.

My students have achieved an average IB exam grade of 6 out of 7 — something I am super proud of!

What can you expect from my lessons?
- Flexible lesson duration: Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but we can adjust the length to suit your individual needs.
- Exam-focused learning: I use IB-style examination questions, markschemes, question banks, and relevant case studies.
- Exam techniques: I teach not only the subject content but also how to structure answers, interpret command terms, and effectively apply IB assessment criteria to maximise marks.
- IA and EE support: I help students plan and develop their Internal Assessments and Extended Essays, with particular emphasis on research methodology, data analysis, academic writing, and independent work. I also have academic experience in this area - my bachelor's thesis recently received the highest grade in my programme, and academic writing has been one of my strengths since high school.
- Personalised approach: I adapt my teaching methods and pace to each student's strengths, challenges, and learning goals.

Who are my lessons for?

I offer tutoring to students enrolled in the IB Diploma Programme (DP), at both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).

Whether you are just beginning your IB journey, looking to improve your grades, struggling with particular topics, or preparing for your final examinations, I can help you develop the knowledge, confidence, and exam techniques needed to succeed.

All levels welcome. Lessons are conducted online.
