O nauczycielu Pat

I've worked now for 15 years teaching English at an IT company in Warsaw (2010-2025 ongoing).

Previous to this, I taught FCE, CAE, CPE, and IELTS exam courses (plus Pre-Intermediate-Proficiency non-exam courses) for five years at two famous schools in Warsaw.

I also taught Pre-Intermediate; Intermediate; Upper-Intermediate; Advanced; and Proficiency levels of English at a school in Canterbury, south-east England for seven years.

Unless the course is exam-based, I always teach through communicative method.

When doing exam-based courses, I enjoy teaching writing (e.g. descriptive; narrative; opinion; compare-contrast; cause-effect; future prediction essays) and provide students with my own model essays before setting assignments.

I've been teaching English for 27 years, 20 years in Warsaw.

I have an MA, Diploma, and Certificate in TESOL (quite high qualifications for teaching English).

I usually teach adults but have taught teenagers before, and do 60-minute lessons.

During the lessons, I write a written commentary in a student notebook with a focus on target language and good structures students can use when they make mistakes.

I usually teach Intermediate; Upper-Intermediate; Advanced; and Proficiency students.

I usually teach through communicative method to activate a student's grammar and vocabulary skills, but have done exam classes (FCE, CAE, CPE, IELTS etc.) before.

I have a PhD in Religious Studies and BA in Literature with Philosophy.

I also have experience of teaching English Literature (I'm currently writing a post-doctoral book on William Wordsworth). My Favourite poets/writers are Wordsworth; Thomas Hardy; D.H. Lawrence; George Orwell etc.
