As a native English speaker with five years of tutoring experience, I've had the pleasure of working both freelance and within a school setting. Once I begin with a student, I always conduct an assessment on the first day to determine their level. This allows me to tailor the lessons appropriately. In my classes, I incorporate a range of activities, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, all paced according to the student's needs. The materials and programs I use are carefully selected based on the student's current level, and we build upon that foundation.
With this approach, I have successfully guided students from barely beginner-level English to intermediate proficiency and beyond. The length of my classes is determined by my students, and no matter the duration, they leave the class having learned new things. I have experience tutoring all ages: children, teens, and even adults at different levels. I've been successful in making students more confident in engaging with their English-speaking classmates and colleagues, as well as helping them perfect their day-to-day conversational skills.
As a native speaker, I won't only be able to teach you English, but I will also expose you to the nuances and slang that native speakers use.
